Chef Khalilur Rahman, Owner of Khalil Biriyani House, received the US Presidential Biden’s Lifetime Achievement Award in New York which was presented by Dr. Sima Katnaya, the American envoy to the United Nations. Originally from Bangladesh, Khalilur Rahman obtained a master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Dhaka before moving to USA in 2008. He started journey from butcher’s hand to dishwasher, and eventually a certified Chef from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York, showcases his dedication. His restaurants, particularly Khalil Biriyani House, have become favorites in New York’s diverse culinary scene, appealing to both local and mainstream food lovers since its launch in July 2017.
Chef Khalilur Rahman founded the Khalil Food Foundation, aiming to provide personalized Culinary training to fresh immigrants, helping them secure sustainable employment. His journey from challenging beginnings underscores his belief that hard work leads to success, and he hopes to popularize traditional Bangladeshi Cuisine Globally. As a professional Chef and successful businessman, Khalilur Rahman’s dual role has greatly benefited his restaurant ventures, eliminating the need for external Chefs and fostering prosperity. Chef Khalilur Rahman decided to open a Culinary Institute in Dhaka-Bangladesh!!
On the way to his operational journey at USA, he finds lacks of professional Bengali nations who can serve the purposes of cooking and serving healthy food in a standard operating manner.
To develop the food industry in Bangladesh, he discovered the need of people who will have professional knowledge and skills. Finally, he opened a Hotel Management Training Institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh and now the Institute is channelizing its full activities in developing skills human resources in the Arts of Culinary and Hospitality Management as per the present global standard.
Khalil Culinary Arts Centre (KCAC) is an accredited and renowned private organization located in the heart of Hasan Court, 23/1 (6th floor), Motijheel Commercial Area, Dhaka-Bangladesh. This is an independent Institute with its own Board of Trustees. The Institute offers several programs in Diploma and under Diploma level from its available faculties. Bangladesh Technical Education Board and National Skills Development Authority bestowed permission to establish this magnificent Institute in 2024.

Our course structure focuses on meeting international standards with a 80%
emphasis on practical experience and 20% on theoretical knowledge. Both
practical and theoretical classes will be taught by industry experts, and
students will also have the opportunity to intern at five star hotels at no extra
cost.
The class timetable is primarily based on what time students prefer, with
morning, afternoon, and evening options available for them to choose from
based on their preference
Internship is available at five-star hotels after finishing either a six-month or
one-year diploma course.
We recommend enrolling in a one-year diploma course in Food and Beverage
Production to study abroad. Upon completion, students will receive a
certificate from the National Skill Development Authority and Khalil Culinary Art
Center, endorsed by the Bangladesh government, which will enhance their
value internationally.
A5: While we currently do not offer direct financial aid, we do provide guidance on potential scholarship opportunities and payment plan options. We aim to make our courses accessible to passionate students and are always looking for ways to help.
A6: Upon completion of any course at Khalil Culinary Arts Center, students receive a certificate that is recognized by leading hospitality organizations, both domestically and internationally.
